Yesterday I took the kids skating and I attempted to recapture my old skills. Ok, so I never was able to skate backwards or squat down and balance on one foot with my leg out in front of me. Nothing has changed, in fact I can’t even stop except for crashing. We had a great time though, feeling the wind as I sped up was exhilarating. Then of course the muscle fatigue set in. Don’t use those skating muscles much these days, but remembering the thrill of childhood activities was worth every second

  1. A thrill of chlidhood I remember along those lines was running so fast and so hard- that your heels hit your rear. Much too old for that now, I have a great memory of running down the big sand dunes at Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan with my sisters…about 1959 or 60…
