My mother

Standard

may-2008-grandmas-camera-081THere are plenty of posts going around about mothers. The women in my life are so important to who I am today. My mother means everything to me. She learned from her mother, who also means everything to me. My childhood was sweet, my mom was great. When I turned 12 things went downhill for me in too many ways. My mom and i were stranded on oppositie sides of a huge divide unsure how to reach back and grasps hands again. There was a slender cord of love strung across from side to side, which we both held on to with desperation until the years passed and we had the strength to pull ourselves across.  As I progressed through to adulthood, and particularly over the past few years, I learned much about who she really is, and her I.

For my mom, who LIVED for me, now I live in tribute to you. Happy mothers day. Now I too am a mother, the best job I ever had. Happy day to me!

Committed to a life of purpose. Learning to live abundantly. Embracing creativity. Questioning. Delighting in the comforts of home and family. Determining not to settle only for how things are, but how they could be. Writing is part of who I am, so I trust In God who gave the gift to show me how I can serve Him through it. That is my life…one word at a time. Psalm 89:11a“Teach me your way , O Lord, and I will walk in your truth”
