Is ball lofting really a problem?

I learned a new term while bowling. Apparently, I “loft” my ball. We have been several times this summer using our cheap family pass. As I happily release my 11 lb. instrument of death (ok, maybe just death to those poor pins at the end of the lane…)  I hear it. “Wow, you sure loft the ball! How far did that go?”
While I previously considered “loft” as a noun, the bowling world prefers to think of it as a verb.
Can it be helped that the strength possessed in my right arm is so abundant, I am incapable of gently setting it down while still propelling it toward the pins? I think not. Where is this strength when the jars need to be opened? It is a gift…my mission is to bowl with it. See you on the lanes. I will be the one lofting my ball halfway down lane 26.
