-198 degrees farenheit

I am gaining a new appreciation for the dry heat of the desert. When we lived there we laughed at the term. We aren’t laughing now, we get it. The humidity has been brutal to us for Midwest summers. Last week we passed the marquee for Walgreens which advertised the current temperature as  -198 farenheit. What??? This is wackier than we knew! 🙂

This week though has been pure joy, high 70’s with low humidity. All the windows open, even in the evening with not a single lightning storm.  The only drawback is in my committment to indoor activities. Last week’s plans for writing quickly gave way to spending as much time outside as possible.   Dare I hope the weather forces me inside to write next week? Nah. I am committing to setting some goals for next week that are attainable. Inside or out in the brisk -198 days of summer.

About christasterken

Committed to a life of purpose. Learning to live abundantly. Embracing creativity. Questioning. Delighting in the comforts of home and family. Determining not to settle only for how things are, but how they could be. Writing is part of who I am, so I trust In God who gave the gift to show me how I can serve Him through it. That is my life…one word at a time. Psalm 89:11a“Teach me your way , O Lord, and I will walk in your truth”
