The conference is done. We’ve mingled, networked, learned, shared, laughed. There were a few surprises, namely John Gilstrap’s class regarding getting the details right in fiction. We saw how bullets really explode. In synthetic materials and flesh. Did you know that, oh wait, too specific for this outlet. Wow. Almost lost my lunch in this class a few times, but where else could I hear from an expert about getting the gory details right?  So informative that the italics floweth.

Marcus Sakey was a dynamic speaker, and summed it up well by stating that we need to consider each sentence. Is it necessary to move the story forward? No? Cut it. Brutal, for a lover of words. I apparently am not alone in this…

Coming home leaves your head spinning, hoping to absorb so much information from stellar professionals. Now, one note…one application at a time.
