What’s on your nightstand?

Let’s play “What’s—On—Your—Nightstand….”

Seldom does fiction land here, it is hard enough to get to sleep without a riveting story! I am reading:

Our Daily Bread from RBC (devotional)

Psalm 34 in the Living BIble translation (awesome)

Writing Motherhood by Lisa Garrigues (challenging)

Peace in the Storm by Maureen Pratt (devotions for chronically ill, interesting)

Sheet Music by Kevin Leman (hubba hubba, no matter how long you’ve been married, this is fascinating stuff)

Aunt Epp’s Guide for Life: Miscellaneous Musings of a Victorian Lady by Elspeth Marr (funny and poignant)

I am also hogging up Art’s nightstand too for things to read with the kids:

The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Spear

The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis

Tell me what YOU have on your nightstand besides a lamp. I also have a Hello Kitty (yep) radio that I listen to Sleepy Guitar at night.

  1. Wow…you must have a BIG nightstand 🙂

I just have a lamp, radio/alarm clock & phone…and inside the drawer is my Bible and a book I’m reading, “Midnight” by Dean Koontz….regardless of what I read, my dreams are weird, but very intertaining 🙂 I should end the day with devotionals…but it seems like my whole day is one big devotion in my head….asking God for wisdom, patience, kindness, extra eyes when I am driving, understanding, forgiveness….just all the gifts that I know the Holy Spirt is giving me …without asking…but acknowledging that they do come from Him…and thanking Him that they are there to help me through the day. And praising God all day….for the colors….I was amazed at the colors of the trees and the blueness of the sky and the beautiful pink clouds at dusk…wow! And I seem to be asking for the power to keep my mouth shut when it seems like everyone around me …even on the radio and the TV are bad-mouthing and judging people all the time…even people they don’t know…or their situations…God must be listening and shaking his head constantly wondering where the people find the audacity to point fingers when He can see inside the lives of those who are no doubt just as guilty of sin…in one form or another. Amazes me….sorry for rambling…this is me, jumping off the soapbox…what did you ask…what’s on the nightstand?????? hahahahaha
