Attacking With Purpose

Standard

Spring  is a little ways off, but this rainy morning inspired me to get started on cleaning my writing shelves. Well, that…and the fact that every time I start a writing project on Word it decides to (not respond…). Yes, you would be correct in imagining the frustration level and accompanying outbursts.

Shelf cleaning it is today. I came at it with purpose, determining to thin them out a bit as well. I almost had the nerve to count the writing related books taking up two levels. But, why? I know they will all get read eventually. Take two, I know they will mostly get read (or donated, or sold, or shared, or lost, or at the very least decorated with) in a timely fashion.  The shelves are a bit lighter, and even dusted! And on the upside, had my computer not crashed  I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy all the titles cleanly displayed. There is the added bonus of reminding myself why I bought them in the first place, and the renewed curiosity about their contents.

Clean off a shelf today, get rid of excess that just gathers dust. But, if you already own it and it brings you a bright spot in your day, don’t feel bad about keeping it! (I decided to donate the book about clutter removal)
