Remembering Grandpa

As a recovering perfectionist, I realize the joy in creating comes not when things are just right, but when I am fine with the results no matter how it turns out! Case in point, a delightful example of a fast project made doable by  appreciation for randomness. Let go of “just right” and just GO.

If you have a special photo, shadow boxes are an easy project to start with. They seem intimidating at first, I have been carrying this empty one around for probably 4-5 years, too scared to start it. Any little trinket can go inside, I happened to have my Grandpa’s carpentry measuring stick. Truly, anything you add will add depth and interest. I’d definitely recommend 3-d glue dots to prevent your project from looking too flat. Just have fun, and enjoy the finished product.

About christasterken

Committed to a life of purpose. Learning to live abundantly. Embracing creativity. Questioning. Delighting in the comforts of home and family. Determining not to settle only for how things are, but how they could be. Writing is part of who I am, so I trust In God who gave the gift to show me how I can serve Him through it. That is my life…one word at a time. Psalm 89:11a“Teach me your way , O Lord, and I will walk in your truth”
